New Build Update: Slow and steady?

Slow and steady wins the race, right? I’m not sure the new build is winning any kind of race, however, the frame and trusses are now complete and the bricks have been laid! We are expecting the roof, windows and cladding to be installed over the next few weeks.

You may recall in an earlier post that I was deliberating over the kind of cladding to use on the upper storey exterior. After countless hours of squinting at different swatches, I settled on the material we originally planned, a charcoal aluminium standing seam cladding. We sourced a product that is locally manufactured called Panline 340 in Colorbond ‘Ironstone’. I’m hoping the contrast between the texture of the recycled bricks and smooth metal will work together nicely.
